Surgery Update

I just wanted to take a moment to give a quick update.

I am home from surgery. It went well and the lymph node was able to be removed and has been sent off to pathology.  Some immediate information will be available in the next few days and a more complete DNA picture will be known in a few weeks. Thank you so much for your prayers, they were felt and I felt such peace as I was wheeled back for this procedure.

I did have an aspiration event when they intubated me. They were able to safely suction my airway, and the surgery obviously was able to continue without further issues.  What that has meant for me on this side of it all is that I was kept in recovery longer because of lower O2 numbers.  I also have had consistent deep coughing. It is a good thing that the coughing has been productive, but it has been uncomfortable coughing with a neck incision.

Continued prayers that...

1. This aspiration resolves on its own with no issues/infection.

2. Wisdom for the technicians and Drs. as they begin gathering information and laying out the next best steps to get a handle on all of this going forward.
